Bach is Sexy! – Chris Thile, Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. I

I’ve been a fan of Chris Thile for some time, whether it’s his work with Nickel Creek, Punch Brothers, and the Goat Rodeo Sessions or as a soloist. He’s an incredible mandolin player whose talent transcends just playing the instrument well whether he’s playing pop, folk, newgrass, classical or a fusion of any of those genres.

When he released his latest CD this past August, Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. I, I was totally blown away. It was unexpectedly beautiful. It’s all music that was originally written for violin, but to hear it plucked by Thile’s fingers – ahh! It’s been my go-to music to get me in a relaxing and reflective mood.

I never imagined it would set the ultimate mood for the best tantric sexual experience I ever had!

Parrot and I turned in from a lovely, indulgent dinner on Friday night. I was still recovering in the extended afterglow of some rather ravenous reunion sex before dinner and was mellowed even more by a rather potent cocktail with my meal.

Cue Adagio from Sonata No. 1 in G Minor, and the slow seduction of fingers peeling clothes off our bodies began.

We spent a better part of the CD slowly feathering our skin, tangling our limbs, mingling the warmth of our bodies, and synching the changing tempo of the music to our touching, breathing and minds. It was sensate focusing beyond purely physical connection and arousal. The music definitely added to the most incredible high I ever experienced.I wish I knew what piece we climaxed to, but it was definitely appropriate, as were the pieces that landed us softly into and through afterglow and a good night’s sleep.
