Relationship Ramblings

More Liebster Love!

I’ve not just been nominated twice for a Liebster Blog Award, but three times.

Yay!

Just a quick recap … Liebster, which is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome, is what this award for and is aptly named. It’s given by bloggers to up-and-coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. My two earlier nominations came from Kayla Lords, blogger of A Sexual Being, and Joseph McNamara, the blog master of his self-titled blog.

My third nomination comes from the lovely young lady who pens Cocktail Please!, the cheerfully sarcastic musings of a thirtysomething environmental scientist working as an office manager in a health clinic. I can totally relate to her. Even though I have a tendency to come off as polite and proper, I sometimes have a smartass streak that runs about as long as Haley’s Comet. Like my erotic/sexual side, I tend to keep it private. There have been too many times when I’ve slipped to show my jaded side and have been told that it’s not pleasant or ladylike. It’s not that I’m embarrassed; it’s just not worth the grief.

Earlier this week I wrote a very detailed post about my Liebster Blog Award nominations. I hope I can get away with not repeating since it’s pretty extensive, but I do want to follow through with the 11 questions asked of me for my third nomination.

1. What is your favorite movie?

Casablanca. I never saw it until this summer, which was probably a good thing. I got to watch it with the sweetest love of my life. It was the most romantic Sunday morning of my life!

2. If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

That I wasn’t so stubborn about being a professional writer. There are too many ups and downs with the income stream. More downs and ups, actually.

3. Do you have any phobias?

Moths! Hate them! Eek!

4. If you could choose one fictional character to go on a date with, who would it be and why?

I can’t think of any fictional characters, but I’d kill to have lunch with Bill Maher. He has a brilliantly hilarious political mind.

5. What was the best piece of advice you ever received?

When going into a business negotiation meeting, wear high heel, stick to the issues.

6. If you could be one of the first people to colonize Mars but you could never return to earth, would you go?

Nope.

7. Right now in this moment, what are you most grateful for?

My lover. He’s my best friend, knows my most closely held secrets, and has been my pillar of support through some difficult times … not just for telling me what I want to hear but what I need to hear to press forward.

8. Do you prefer to give advice or take advice?

I love giving advice. I don’t give it unless I know it’s truly helpful. I can’t say that I always get good advice from others.

9. Are you currently following the career path you thought you would when you were in high school?

Nope. Not at all, and I’m glad I’m not.

10. What is your favorite place you’ve ever visited?

Napa Valley. Twice. Beautiful area and so many beautiful memories.

11. If you could be famous for doing anything, what would it be?

Writing eloquent smut, of course.

According to the Liebster Blog Award rules I’m supposed pick eleven blogs worthy of nomination. Quite honestly, I don’t read thirty-three blogs nor do I have time to. However, I just came across a brand-new blog I feel is very worthy of a Liebster Blog nomination, Blushing Tulips, a collection of tastefully tasty erotic stories, photos and videos. Yum!
